Middlesbrough Eventspic

Year 6 Tag Rugby
8 of our Y6 children headed to Middlesbrough College to take part in one of the biggest Middlesbrough Primary School competitions in history! The children were fantastic winning every game on the morning. We bowed out of the competition by finishing 3rd in the afternoon league.

Year 4 Tag Rugby
This competition was held over 2 days due to the poor weather. The first day our Year 4 children won every game which sealed a passage into the Championship event on the afternoon. Despite playing some fantastic rugby we were sadly beaten in the semi-finals.

Year 6 Football
Our Y6 Boys footballers headed to Eston on a fine autumnal morning. The boys showed great skill and desire and managed to win every game on the morning. In the championship league on the afternoon we managed to finish in 4thplace, just missing out on a semi-final position.

Year 6 Sports Hall Athletics
Over 20 of our Y6 pupils made up our Sports Hall Athletics side this year. Our children took part in numerous events in both track and field sections and managed to seal 2nd place in our competition! A fantastic achievement!

Year 4 Sports Hall Athletics
This was the first time that some of our Y4 children had represented the school at a sporting event. Again our children took part in different track and field events, and finished a fantastic 2nd place! The attitude and behaviour from all of our children was fantastic.

Year 6 Table Tennis
We were lucky enough to be able to enter 2 teams into this competition at Ormesby Table Tennis club! Our children had a fantastic afternoon and achieved great results finishing in 1st and 3rd place. Out of 64 games our children only lost a combined 3 games! Which is a brilliant achievement! We will now progress onto the Tees Valley finals in the summer.

Y5/6 Swimming

8 children from years 5 and 6 took part in the Middlesbrough Swimming Competition at the Neptune Centre. Each child took part in either 1 or 2 races in different stroke categories. 2 of our children managed to qualify to represent Middlesbrough at the Tees Valley Games!

Y6 Basketball
6 Children from Y6 took part in the Middlesbrough Championship event. The competition was held at Middlesbrough College. Our children had a fantastic afternoon out and managed to win the Championship Plate trophy! They showed a great understanding of the rules and a desire to win. We are very proud of their achievements.

Y 4/5/6 X Country

36 runners represented Acklam Whin at UCA in what was the largest ever Middlesbrough X Country event. Our children took part in races over different distances ranging from 1.5km to 2.1km. We were so proud of the children who competed especially our Y5 boys won gold in their team event!

Tees Valley X Country Finals

6 children managed to qualify from the Middlesbrough event to race in the Tees Valley finals at Stewart Park. The finals saw the best runners from the Tees Valley area compete against each other in a selection of team races! Again all of our children performed brilliantly representing Middlesbrough.

Y6 Netball

6 of our Y6 children took part in a Netball competition at Eston Sports Hall. The children showed fantastic skills and understanding of the numerous rules involved with Netball. We finished in a very respectable 5th position.

 

Acklam Sports Partnership Events

Fun Run

Over 40 children from years 4, 5 and 6 took part in a fun run at Kader Primary school. Our children took part in numerous activities on the afternoon and everyone left with big smiles upon their faces!

Year 1 Gymnastics

10 of our y1 children took part in a gymnastics and trampoline event at Acklam Grange School. The children had been working hard with their year groups in making a gymnastics routine which they got to show on the day. They ended a brilliant afternoon by using the trampolines.

ASP X Country

Over 50 children took part in an X Country run at Acklam Grange School. The Acklam Grange Sports Leaders set up a challenging course for our pupils. We returned to school with lots of medals and smiley faces.

Year 4 Gym
Our Year 6 sports leaders worked very hard with our Year 4 children to create a routine to music. The y4 gymnasts headed to Acklam Grange and took part in a range of activities from basic gym moves to using the trampoline. They received lots of positive feedback about their routine!

Year 2 orienteering
28 of our Y2 children took part in a fabulous afternoon at Acklam Grange! They took on a challenging orienteering course as well as other activities including parachute games and football matches. Huge thanks to the Acklam Grange leaders for a fabulous afternoon!

 

MFC Events

Lee Stevenson Y4 Football Cup

7 of our Y4 boys took part in the MFC Y4 Cup qualifier at Eston Sports Center. The boys worked so well as a team and managed to reach the final of this competition. Which they managed to win! The boys will now enjoy a day at MFC Hurworth taking in a tour of the training ground before taking part in a competition on the afternoon! Huge well done.

Lee Stevenson Cup Finals Day

Wow what a day! The boys had a brilliant day at the MFC Training ground. Enjoying a tour of the training facilities on the morning and meeting some of the players. And then competing in a competition on the afternoon. Sadly the boys were beaten in the final of this competition, however the football they played throughout the day was a joy to watch! Huge thanks to MFC Foundation for looking after us!
