Weekly Update 🎄
What a busy, festive week it has been!
It has been lovely to welcome so many parents, carers, family and friends into school to watch our Christmas Performances. We have had packed audiences for each session, and we hope that everyone has enjoyed the shows. We thank you for all your support with costumes and for helping your children to learn their words and songs.
We still have the Nursery Singalong on Monday and the Year 6 Service on Tuesday to look forward to as well as lots of other festive activities in school: a pantomime, KS2 Quiz, Christmas dinner, parties, a visit from Santa, Craft Day and our Christmas assembly. Please see our events list below which indicates which days the children can come dressed in Christmas clothes.
Two groups of children have been out on PE events this week. A group of KS2 children loved playing in a Boccia tournament and we had great success at the table tennis event today becoming the Middlesbrough Champions again! Well done to all the children who took part and represented Acklam Whin.
We hope everyone has a lovely, festive weekend.
Class Round Up
Enjoy seeing Christmas Performances from Reception, KS1, Year 3 / 4 and Year 5.
Reception
Reception have absolutely loved performing their Nativity for the school and their grown-ups this week. The children wowed us all with their super singing, confident acting and big smiles on stage.
The Reception team are incredibly proud of how brave and brilliant the children were – what a special performance! We’re now looking forward to an exciting week full of festive Christmas activities.

Year 1 & 2
This week, Year 1 and Year 2 took to the stage for our Christmas play, The Fleece Force! The children worked really hard learning lines, dance moves, and lyrics! It was lovely to see their confidence and excitement shine through. Thank you to everyone who came along to support us – it really made the performances extra special! We hope you had a baa-rilliant time!

Year 3 & 4
This week, our Year 3 and 4 children treated us to a fantastic performance of A Magical Christmas Jigsaw, and we couldn’t be prouder of them. The children worked incredibly hard learning their lines, remembering cues, and performing with confidence and teamwork. Their enjoyment really shone through on stage—a huge thank you to families at home for supporting with learning lines and organising costumes. Your support made a real difference and helped bring the performance to life.
Well done to all our wonderful performers – a truly magical way to celebrate Christmas! ✨

Year 5
Christmas was well and truly brought to life by Year 5, as they cleverly spelled out the word CHRISTMAS through their performance. Each letter was represented by a popular Christmas song, brought together with energetic dances, confident narration, and clear storytelling. Alongside the festive fun, the children shared some important messages, making the performance both entertaining and meaningful. Year 5 performed with confidence, enthusiasm, and huge smiles — a fantastic celebration of the Christmas season! 🎄✨

Attendance Matters
It is so important that we see your children in school every day as any missed days means missed learning. We have had a very positive start to the new term.
There are our attendance figures for this week:

Overall 93.2%
Huge congratulations to Class 103 who got 100% this week and won the attendance trophy. We haven’t had many classes getting 100% this half term so well done to you.
Fantastic attendance from Nursery am, Class 511, Class 613 and Class 614 who all got over 96% too.
Let’s have a good attendance week to finish off for Christmas.

Reminders
*Thank you to everyone who has named their child’s uniform; this really helps us to return any lost property to its rightful owner, and we would encourage all parents to make sure that uniform is named please.
*As the weather has turned much wetter and colder, please can you ensure that the children have a suitable coat in school each day. Many thanks.
