Weekly Update

It was lovely to see our Reception parents/carers in school on Thursday for their Craft Day.  The children made gorgeous Cuddle Pets and parents were treated to some lovely singing and a story was shared with the whole group.

On Wednesday, Year 5 had a fantastic day with their Viking Workshop which really enhanced their History work.

Well done to the Year 3 children who took part in the TAG Rugby afternoon on Friday.

All classes have taken part in webinars and activities linked to British Science Week and Miss Edwards led an assembly to celebrate all the experiences (see below).

We look forward to seeing your red or brightly coloured outfits next Friday for Red Nose Day for a donation to the charity.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Science Week ⚗️

This week, our children have had an amazing time taking part in British Science Week, exploring the theme Change and Adapt. It was a week filled with fun investigations and hands-on learning that encouraged students to think like scientists!
The children had the chance to design and build their very own marble runs, test out different ramps to study forces in motion, create shadow puppets and learn about light, and even test a variety of materials to see which ones are truly waterproof. They used different scientific skills along the way, and it was wonderful to see their creativity and curiosity come to life.
We also want to give a big congratulations to everyone who entered the British Science Week poster competition. It was fantastic to see so many bright and imaginative designs! A special shout-out to our poster competition winners – your artwork truly captured the spirit of science and discovery.
A huge well done to all the children for making this year’s British Science Week so memorable. We’re so proud of the enthusiasm and energy you brought to your investigations!

Class Round-Up

Enjoy finding out what some of our KS1 classes have been doing in their learning…

Year 2

This week for British Science Week, Year 2 have been investigating waterproof materials. We had a fantastic time testing the different ways to make fabric waterproof.
Today, in Art, we used different objects to recreate the interesting textures found in natural objects. Well done everyone!
We’ve also enjoyed writing our own recounts based on the book ‘Thank You Omu’ and the children did some amazing writing. Our new Class Read is ‘Einstein the Penguin’, and the children have found it very funny so far!

Attendance Matters

It is so important that we see your children in school every day as any missed days means missed learning.

There are our attendance figures for this week:

Overall  97.2% (Brilliant!)

Well done to the 11 classes who got 96% or above and particularly to Class 613 who achieved 100%.

Let’s have more classes and children achieving 100% this half term.

Reminders

*Thank you to everyone who has named their child’s uniform; this helps us to return any lost property to its rightful owner.

*All medicines brought into school, should be brought in through the office where the appropriate paper work will be completed. We only accept medicines that need to be taken more than 3 times a day. Children should not have medicines in their own coats or bags.  Many thanks for your support.

*Please remember that children shouldn’t be playing on the P.E. equipment on the playgrounds/field before and after school as there needs to be a member of staff supervising them at all times.
