Weekly Update
A busy week where Mr Jackson took our Y5/6 children to football tournaments on Thursday and Friday and Year 3 were lucky to have Animal Stories in school on Thursday. The children were able to meet and learn about some unusual animals (see photos below) with many children being very brave and holding them.
In assemblies this week we discussed the importance of recycling and shared how we can all Reduce, Reuse and Recycle at home and school. We also discussed one of our Games Values – Determination – and the achievements of some of the stars of the Olympic Games were shared as well as talking to Miss Middleton and Mrs Wilson about completing the Great North Run last week!
We look forward to the children taking part in Breaking the Rules Day next Friday to raise money for school funds.
Year 3 – Animal Stories
We had an Animal Story in school. We saw and learned about many different animals, and we were very brave when handling them, even though we were a little apprehensive, especially with Rosie the Rose Boa. We were much braver than Miss Appleby!

Attendance Matters
It is so important that we see your children in school every day as any missed days means missed learning. We have had a very positive start to the new term.
There are our attendance figures for this week:

Overall 96.8%
A huge well done to the 13 classes who had 96% or over this week – a super effort with really pleasing attendance.
If children are arriving late or leaving school early for medical appointments, please make sure that evidence is provided to the school office.

*With the unpredictable weather, please can the children bring a coat to school each day, so they are prepared for all eventualities.
*Please remember that children shouldn’t be playing on the P.E. equipment on the playgrounds/field before and after school as there needs to be a member of staff supervising them at all times.
