WEEKLY BLOG – Friday 28th November 🎄

Weekly Update 🎄

What a fantastic Christmas Fayre we had last night with lots of fun, delicious food, activities and a superb selection of stalls. A visit to Father Christmas also proved to be very popular and his elves were kept very busy. We thank everyone for the support shown and hope you all had a lovely time. We made a grand total of £2992.41 for school funds which is an amazing effort.

The children have got into full swing with the rehearsals for their Christmas shows and we are looking forward to welcoming you to see them perform.  Look out for the app message to book your tickets.

We are really looking forward to our Elf Run next Friday, where we will be raising money for Zoe’s Place.

We hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Class Round Up

Enjoy finding out what some of our KS1 classes have been doing in their learning…

Year 1

This week in Year 1, we have enjoyed exploring 2D and 3D shapes. We have been learning to name them and have sorted them into groups. We have created our own repeating patterns using both 2D and 3D shapes.

We have been very busy in science learning about everyday materials and their properties. We compared and grouped materials based on whether they were rough or smooth, shiny or dull and bendy or stiff.

Year 2

Wow – what a week it’s been for Year 2!

We’ve started rehearsing for our Christmas play, The Fleece Force! Everyone is working really hard to learn their lines, sing the songs and remember their dances. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on – it’s going to be baa-rilliant!

In Art, we’ve been learning all about collages. Our big project is to make beautiful barn owls. First, we drew our owls, and now we’re carefully cutting out feathers to stick on. The owls are looking fantastic already – well done everybody!

Attendance Matters

It is so important that we see your children in school every day as any missed days means missed learning.  We have had a very positive start to the new term.

There are our attendance figures for this week:

Overall 92.4%

A big well-done to Class 614 for winning the attendance trophy for the second week in a row, as well as Class R02, Class 103, Class 205, Class 308, Class 409 and who all got over 96%.

Lots of illness this week, but let’s aim for more classes getting into the green next week.

Reminders

*Thank you to everyone who has named their child’s uniform; this really helps us to return any lost property to its rightful owner, and we would encourage all parents to make sure that uniform is named please.

*As the weather has turned much wetter and colder, please can you ensure that the children have a suitable coat in school each day. Many thanks.
