Weekly Update ☀️

We had our Harvest Festival in school today, led by Mr Armstrong, where we were able to sing some of our favourite harvest songs and celebrate this autumn festival. Thank you so much for all the generous donations that were sent into school which will be sent to the local foodbank.

What a wonderful audience the Nursery children had for their Stay and Sing sessions on Tuesday. Thank you to everyone who attended; the children loved having you there. We look forward to the first of our Parental Engagement afternoons next Wednesday where the Y5s will welcome their parent/carers into school.

We hope everyone has seen the app message about Parents Evening and been able to book their appointments; any problems, please speak to the school office.

Mr Jackson was extremely proud of the children who took part in the Cross-Country finals on Wednesday. Many congratulations to Isla who won an overall gold medal.

Have a lovely weekend.

Class Round Up

Reception

It has been a busy few weeks in Reception.
This week we have been asking the question, What makes a good friend?
We shared the story ‘Lost and found’ and talked about how the boy became friends with the penguin by showing kindness. We sorted pictures showing friendly and unfriendly behaviours to help us think about how we can be good friends at school
Working in pairs with a friend, we each chose primary colours and talked about what new colour we though the two paints would make when we mixed them together. We painted our hands, gave each other a high five and made friendship handprints so that we could see the new colour. We took it in turns to say why we liked being each others friend.
We shared pictures to help us think about how we can use our hands for lots of things. We talked about how one of the best things we can use our hands for is to be kind and gentle towards each other.

Attendance Matters

It is so important that we see your children in school every day as any missed days means missed learning.  We have had a very positive start to the new term.

There are our attendance figures for this week:

Overall 95%

A big well done to Class 511 for winning the attendance trophy as well as the other 7 classes who all got over 96%. Let’s keep this up and aim for even more classes getting in the green!

Reminders

*Thank you to everyone who has named their child’s uniform; this really helps us to return any lost property to its rightful owner, and we would encourage all parents to make sure that uniform is named please.

Important Notice About Spy Series Books

We wanted to make families aware of a recent safety notice regarding the Spy Dogs, Spy Pup, and Spy Cat books by Andrew Cope.

Some editions of these books include a web link at the back that no longer leads to safe or appropriate content. While we’ve checked our school library and book corners and can confirm we do not have any copies, we wanted to share this information so you can check at home just in case.

If you do have any of these titles, it’s advised that you remove them from your child’s collection.

Thank you for helping us keep our pupils’ reading safe and enjoyable!

🌿 October Wellbeing Update from HeadStart 🌿

This month is packed with impactful health campaigns, including World Mental Health Day on Friday.

We’re thrilled to share a preview of some of the inspiring work our HeadStarters have been involved in recently—highlighting how mental health and wellbeing matter deeply to them and their school communities.

Our fortnightly wellbeing article focuses on the seasonal shift into autumn, exploring how important it is to adapt to these changes and reconnect with nature. As the days grow shorter and cooler, it’s a perfect time to reflect, recharge, and embrace the beauty of the season.

We hope you enjoy this week’s article and find it valuable. Please feel free to share it with anyone who might benefit from these insights.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
