Weekly Update
We would like to say well done to our lovely Year 6s who have really worked their socks off this week in their SATs. With fantastic attendance again and following a popular Breakfast Club, their positive attitude to all their work – make sure you get a well-earned rest this weekend.
As an end of SAT treat, everyone watched The Wizard of Oz by M and M productions. It was a great show with many familiar characters and songs. After the performance, our Year 6s had a workshop with the cast where they found out more about the theatre world.
On Thursday, the whole school joined in a special online session with Joe Wicks to support Mental Health Week. The children were challenged to use exercise to improve their wellbeing. Remember to use some of the strategies in your day-to-day life.
Have a great weekend.
Class Round Up
Read on to find out what some of our classes have been doing in their learning:
Year 3
Phew — what a busy couple of weeks we have had in Year 3! From creating prehistoric artwork, becoming inquisitive scientists in our new Science topic and to building confidence in Swimming, we have certainly been busy learners!
In Art, we have been finishing our Ancient Cave Paintings. We used cous-cous and beans to create a textured cave wall background before painting our prehistoric animal designs on top. We loved watching our artwork come to life and are very proud of our finished pieces!

In Science, we have really enjoyed starting our new topic all about Light. This week, we investigated which materials were reflective and which were not. We made predictions, tested different objects, and discussed our findings together like real scientists. Ask us at home what we discovered!

Over the last two weeks, we have also worked incredibly hard in Swimming. We showed resilience, bravery, and determination while improving our confidence and skills in the water. We are very proud of the progress we have made!

We’ve had such a fun-packed couple of weeks in Year 3 and cannot wait for more exciting learning ahead!
Year 1
Attendance
It is so important that we see your children in school every day as any missed days means missed learning.
There are our attendance figures for this week:

Overall 94.8%
A huge well done to Year 6 for getting 100% – a fantastic achievement for the second week in a row – as well as Class 205, Class 307, Class 511 and Class 512 who all got over 96%.
Let’s keep this up and aim for even more children getting over 96% this term.
Well done to all the children who have got tickets in the draw for the Full House Friday campaign. The draw will take place on Friday 22nd May so one more chance to get your name in the draw.

Reminders
Reminders
- Please can we remind all children and parents that bikes and scooters should not be ridden on the school playground. Please jump off your vehicle and push it along to avoid any accidents.
- Please can we remind you that children should be wearing black school shoes with their uniform on non-PE days. On PE days, only black or white trainers should be worn with their PE kit.
- Thank you to everyone who has named their child’s uniform; this really helps us to return any lost property to its rightful owner, and we would encourage all parents to make sure that uniform is named please.
