Weekly Update
What a fantastic week we’ve had in school, made even better by the beautiful sunshine! It’s been lovely to see the children enjoying their learning and spending time outdoors in such positive spirits.
Our Photo Day went very smoothly, and we hope you enjoy the pictures. The children looked incredibly smart and represented our school brilliantly – we loved seeing their smiles captured!
Our Year 1 children enjoyed a super local area walk, exploring their surroundings and making real-life links to their learning. They showed great curiosity and enthusiasm, asking thoughtful questions and spotting lots of interesting features along the way.
Over the last two weeks, pupils experienced their first “Whin Time”, which has been a great success. It was wonderful to see children engaging in new activities, building confidence, and enjoying time to explore different interests.
We are also incredibly proud of our hardworking pupils in Year 6, who are continuing to show real determination as they prepare for their upcoming SATs. Alongside them, our Year 4 children are working hard towards their Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) iand the Year 1 children practising their phonics – keep up the fantastic effort!
As we head into the long weekend, we hope you all enjoy some rest, sunshine, and quality time together.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Year 5
Last week, Year 5 visited the Life Science Centre in Newcastle to enhance their learning about Earth and Space. The children took part in a workshop where they learned all about what life is like aboard the International Space Station; watched a live science show about dinosaurs; enjoyed a session learning about the stars in the planetarium; and explored all the exiting, interactive areas with their friends.

Attendance
It is so important that we see your children in school every day as any missed days means missed learning.
There are our attendance figures for this week:

Overall 95.4%
A big well done to Class 511 for winning the attendance as well as Nursery am, Class 104, Class 205, Class 613 and Class 614 who all got over 96%.
An improvement on last week overall, so let’s keep it up. Well done to everyone here today who got a ticket for the Full House Friday draw.
A reminder that if a child is picked up early from school, then you must provide medical evidence of the appointment they are attending.

Reminders
Reminders
- Please can we remind you that children should be wearing black school shoes with their uniform on non-PE days. On PE days, only black or white trainers should be worn with their PE kit.
- Thank you to everyone who has named their child’s uniform; this really helps us to return any lost property to its rightful owner, and we would encourage all parents to make sure that uniform is named please.

Our HeadStarters have been superb, demonstrating their knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for sharing wellbeing across the whole school community. Their commitment to promoting positive mental health continues to inspire both pupils and staff alike.
This time of year often encourages us to “spring clean” – letting go of the old, welcoming fresh energy, and refreshing our physical and emotional spaces. With this in mind, we’re also shining a spotlight on staff wellbeing, recognising the importance of taking time to pause, reset, and look after ourselves.
