Weekly Update

Welcome back to everyone; we hope you all had a wonderful summer holiday and enjoyed the gorgeous weather.

We have loved having the children back in school this week, and we are so proud of how they have settled. They are all looking super smart in their unform, and it has been great to see them enjoying spending time with their friends again and being so focused on their new learning.

Before the holidays, we found out that thanks to the fantastic efforts of pupils, families and staff, our school finished in the Top 50 on the national Recycle to Read Toys leaderboard which was a fantastic achievement. By taking part in The Great Toy Rescue, our school has helped give unwanted and broken toys a second life through reuse and recycling. Every toy rescued has helped protect valuable resources, reduce waste and inspire children to see how everyday actions can make a real difference for our planet. As a prize, we received a £75 book token which we are using to buy some additional books for our library. THANK YOU to everyone who took the toys to Tesco or brought them into school. Remember, the drop box is still available in Tesco at Coulby Newham for you to take unwanted or broken hard plastic toys; it is so much better than them going into landfill.

Our Rock Steady lessons started today with our bands getting straight on with learning new skills and songs. Our keyboard lessons from Music Monsters and Violin lessons from TVMS will also begin next week. If anyone is interested in starting to learn any of these instruments or joining the Rock Steady bands, please get in touch with Mrs Wilson in school.

We had a lot of lost property lost in school at the end of last term, including some gorgeous coats. When the weather is a little more reliable, we will put it out on the playground at drop off and pick up times, so the items can be reunited to their owners.

Thank you for your support with the early picks ups today and Monday; it is much appreciated.

Have a lovely weekend.

Thank You for Moving to Our New Arbor App

A big thank you to all our parents and carers who have already accepted their invitation and moved over to our new Arbor Parent App. We really appreciate your support as we make this transition.

The Arbor app will allow you to:

  • 📱 Receive school messages and updates
  • 📅 View important school information and events
  • 💷 Pay for school meals and other items
  • 📝 Complete forms and provide information to school
  • 📚 Access key information about your child
  • 🔔 Receive important notifications directly through the app

If you haven’t activated your Arbor account yet, please keep an eye out for your activation link, which will be sent to you shortly. Once received, please follow the link to set up your account and download the Arbor app.

We will be moving fully across to Arbor over the coming weeks, so thank you for helping us make the change as smooth as possible!

Reminders

  • Please can we remind all children and parents that bikes and scooters should not be ridden on the school playground. Please jump off your vehicle and push it along to avoid any accidents.
  • Please can we remind you that children should be wearing black school shoes with their uniform on non-PE days. On PE days, only black or white trainers should be worn with their PE kit.
  • Thank you to everyone who has named their child’s uniform; this really helps us to return any lost property to its rightful owner, and we would encourage all parents to make sure that uniform is named please.
