Weekly Update
A busy end to the half term with both Year 5 and Year 6 going on local area walks to support their current Geography units of work.
Acklam Whin hosted the Middlesbrough Cricket Finals on Thursday where 6 schools played a range of matches across the day. Congratulations to our team who won the event.
On Wednesday, some Year 6 children took part in an Outdoor and Adventurous Activities event; a great time was had by all.
Thank you to everyone who attended the Reception Library event on Tuesday. Children and parents enjoyed taking part in this event with the added addition of the butterfly cocoons which they shared with parents.
We were sad to say goodbye to Miss Middleton today who is leaving Acklam Whin to pursue a different career. Miss Middleton has been a cheerful member of our front office team, and we will all miss having her around the school. Thank you for all you have done at Acklam Whin, Miss Middleton.
Congratulations to our winners of the Full House Friday draw which took part in assembly today for KS2. The EYFS and KS1 draw will take place after the holiday. Thank you to all our children and families who got their names in the draw for every Friday attended this half term.

It is so important that we see your children in school every day as any missed days means missed learning.
There are our attendance figures for this week:
Not a good week for attendance with some of our lowest %s sadly.
A huge well done to Class 206, Class 511, Class 512 and Class 614 for all getting over 96%.
We came to the end of our Summer 1 Full House Friday campaign. The KS2 classes had their draw in assembly today – well done to everyone who won a prize and to everyone who got tickets in the draw for being in school on Fridays. EYFS and KS1s will be drawn when we get back after the holidays.

Reminders
Reminders
- Please can we remind all children and parents that bikes and scooters should not be ridden on the school playground. Please jump off your vehicle and push it along to avoid any accidents.
- Please can we remind you that children should be wearing black school shoes with their uniform on non-PE days. On PE days, only black or white trainers should be worn with their PE kit.
- Thank you to everyone who has named their child’s uniform; this really helps us to return any lost property to its rightful owner, and we would encourage all parents to make sure that uniform is named please.
