Weekly Update ☀️
We have had a busy week to end the half term.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the Break the Rules Day yesterday where the children brought in donations for ‘breaking the rules!’ We had lots of colourful clothing (and hair), nail varnish, unhealthy snacks as well as a whole array of soft toys! Thank you for all your support towards school funds.
Year 2 had a very enjoyable visit to the Captain Cook Museum at Stewarts Park where they undertook lots of activities linked to the life of Captain Cook. It was an interesting ending to their history unit of work on local history.
We were lucky to have the Fire Service in school on Monday to undertake an assembly for Key Stage Two, sharing information about their jobs, as well as how to stay safe during the Bonfire Night season.
Thank you to everyone who were able to attend the Parents Evenings this week; it was lovely to share your children’s learning and we hope you found it useful and informative.
Year 2 are looking forward to welcoming their parent/carers into school for their Parental Engagement afternoon on Thursday 6th November.
We hope everyone has a lovely holiday and comes back refreshed for the next half term.

Year 1
Year 1 children have been artists this week developing their drawing skills. We have explored making different types of lines using different control and pressure. We used oil pastels and colouring pencils to add a splash of colour.
We were very excited to participate in Break the Rules Day. It was great to have our favourite cuddly toys to give a hug to and drink squash from our water bottles.

Attendance Matters
It is so important that we see your children in school every day as any missed days means missed learning. We have had a very positive start to the new term.
There are our attendance figures for this week:
Overall 94.1%
A big well done to R01 for winning our attendance trophy as well as Class 205, Class 308, Class 511 and Class 613 who all got over 96%.
Reminders
*Thank you to everyone who has named their child’s uniform; this really helps us to return any lost property to its rightful owner, and we would encourage all parents to make sure that uniform is named please.
