Weekly Update
What a busy end to the term we have had with the great weather adding to the enjoyment of our outdoor activities.
The children enjoyed another morning with their new teachers on Monday, and it has been lovely for all the staff to get to know their new classes. We hope this has made your child feel more settled for the new term in September.
On Monday, a group of Year 5 children enjoyed a fantastic Maths Challenge Morning at Acklam Grange School . They undertook some thought-provoking activities, requiring teamwork and determination, and participated with other children from The Legacy Learning Trust.
On Tuesday, our Year 6 leavers enjoyed a wonderful experience at the Hollywood Bowl. A game of bowling and a lunch was enjoyed by all and was a fitting end of term treat for this great group of children. This was followed by an excellent set of SATs results on Thursday, and we are so proud of what all the Year 6s have achieved; it was the culmination of all your hard work which certainly paid off.
On Thursday the Year 6s also presented their Leavers’ Assembly to both their parents and carers and the school. It was fantastic to see all your talents and hear your memories of Acklam Whin. We would like to wish you good luck at your secondary school and much success in the future.
On Friday, we were also sad to say goodbye in assembly to some members of staff. Mrs Alanson has retired after 33 years at Acklam Whin and Mrs Goodman is moving on to a new job after over 22 years at the school. We also said goodbye to Mrs Neil, Mr Frazer and Miss Stobbs who will start new teaching roles in September. We would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for EVERYTHING you have done at Acklam Whin and wish you much happiness in your future ventures.
We would like to thank all our families for the support you have given us and your children over the last year, and we hope you all have a fantastic, restful summer break. We look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Wednesday 2nd September.

It is so important that we see your children in school every day as any missed days means missed learning.
There are our attendance figures for this week:

Overall 94.9%
A big well-done to Class 511 for winning the attendance this week as well as Class 308 and Class 205 who all got over 96%.
Congratulations to all the children who received their 100% attendance for the term certificates today. We also have 22 children who have been here every day all year – you will get your certificates and pin badges in September.

Reminders

Reminders
- Please can we remind all children and parents that bikes and scooters should not be ridden on the school playground. Please jump off your vehicle and push it along to avoid any accidents.
- Please can we remind you that children should be wearing black school shoes with their uniform on non-PE days. On PE days, only black or white trainers should be worn with their PE kit.
- Thank you to everyone who has named their child’s uniform; this really helps us to return any lost property to its rightful owner, and we would encourage all parents to make sure that uniform is named please.
